Breastfeeding Support & Nursing BrasThe Springfield Greene County WIC program offers lactation support to all breastfeeding moms regardless of WIC participation. Anyone can call or come in and get help with breastfeeding. WIC participants can be fitted for a free nursing bra consultation and help from our peer consultations. We offer these after delivery, as breast size changes can be significant.
WIC offers breastfeeding classes for pregnant women. The first class is a breastfeeding class that teaches the benefits of breastfeeding. The second class is a breastfeeding class on basic infant behavior and breastfeeding. Breastfeeding Mothers' Group Bebe' Cafe' is a mothers group offered to all pregnant and breastfeeding women in the county. The group meets the second Wednesday of the month at the main WIC office from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. For more information, call (417)851-1583.
