Stay Away from Dangerous Things
Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will understand the difference between safe items that are okay to touch and dangerous items that are not safe to touch.
Time Needed: 15 minutes
Supplies Needed: Laminated photos, magnetic white board
Activity:
- Write "Dangerous" on one side of magnetic white board and "Safe" on the other side.
- Explain to children the difference between dangerous items (not okay to touch) and safe items (okay to touch). Encourage them to tell an adult if they see something dangerous.
- Hold up one photo at a time. Ask children to identify pictures as dangerous or safe and place on white board in appropriate category.
- After each dangerous item, re-emphasize that these items could hurt them and they should tell a grown-up if they see it.
- Review the difference between dangerous items and safe items.
