I am proud to be Chief of the Springfield Fire Department. Our mission is clear: We are a professional organization dedicated to serving our community. This Web site shows the numerous ways in which we achieve our mission.

Community Risk Reduction is our number 1 goal. We would much rather citizens never experience a fire than need to call us to put one out. To promote this goal, you will find many resources to promote fire prevention and safety education.  You will find information on trainings and presentations available to the public including fire extinguisher training, school fire safety presentations and training for bars and nightclubs, just to name a few.
