Schedule a Wedding
The Springfield Municipal Court performs weddings on Thursdays at 4 p.m.. Municipal Court weddings must be reserved; there are no unscheduled walk-ins for wedding ceremonies. Each week is limited to a maximum of two ceremonies. Please call and book your date as soon as possible. The court maintains a yearly calendar for wedding ceremonies.
Weddings should be scheduled through the coordinator at 417-864-1372. Provide your name and phone number and the date you want to book and the coordinator will return your call to confirm if the date is available.
The coordinator will also provide general information as to the Court's policies regarding the wedding ceremony. Leaving the voice mail does not guarantee a booking. You must confirm with the coordinator by phone. Wedding scheduling is done on a first come, first served basis. Calls will be returned in the order they are received.
1) You may dress formally or informally, your choice.
2) You may bring as many people as you like.
3) There is no fee for a Municipal Court wedding.
4) You may take pictures in the courtroom only. There is no filming or pictures allowed in any other area of the Court.
5) If you do not have two witnesses with your wedding party, please let the bailiffs know upon arrival and they will provide two witnesses from the courthouse staff.
6) You must have your wedding license with you. It may be obtained from your local county recorders office. There are fees
associated with obtaining a wedding license but this information is available at your local county recorder's office. The Municipal Court only performs the wedding ceremony.
