Breastfeeding Support & Nursing Bras
The Springfield Greene County WIC program offers lactation support to all breastfeeding moms regardless of WIC participation. Anyone can call or come in and get help with breastfeeding. WIC participants can be fitted for a free nursing bra during a consultation and get help from our peer consultations. We offer these after delivery, as breast size changes can be significant.
WIC offers breastfeeding classes for pregnant women. The first class is a breastfeeding class that teaches the benefits of breastfeeding. The second class is a breastfeeding class on basic infant behavior and breastfeeding. Nurture: Breastfeeding Encouragement and Support is a mothers group offered to all pregnant and breastfeeding women in the county. For more information, call (417) 864-1541.
