Citizens

The City of Springfield has a separate storm drain system from its sanitary sewer system. This means that anything that goes through the sanitary sewer system is treated at one of the two wastewater treatment plants, and anything that goes into a storm drain goes directly to a stream, river or lake of Springfield. It’s important to keep our waters clean for our citizens, our visitors, and our wildlife. We have plenty of ideas and resources on how to keep our waters clean, so go out there and make a difference!

Stormwater Management Task Force

In 2012 and 2013, the Stormwater Management Task Force provided recommendations for stormwater funding to the community. The final recommendations can be found online.
