For entertainment venues and museums
- Determine whether your venue will continue to require masking. Following guidance from the CDC, the Health Department strongly recommends unvaccinated individuals to wear masks and practice physical distancing of six feet in public settings.
- Post signage outside of any entrances that states that any patron who has symptoms of COVID-19 should not enter.
- Routine cleaning and disinfection between visits.
- Promote the use of self-serve checkout registers; clean and disinfect registers and client credit cards regularly.
- Make hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes available throughout the facility.
- Continue to post signs encouraging hand washing and respiratory etiquette (covering coughs and sneezes).
Employee Health Guidance
- Require employees to stay home if they are sick or if they report to work with a symptom.
- Unvaccinated individuals (especially those at high-risk) should continue to wear a mask in public settings and practice physical distancing.
- Employees who are well but who have a sick family member at home with COVID-19 should notify their supervisor and follow CDC recommended precautions. CDC Guidance
- Encourage respiratory etiquette, including covering coughs and sneezes.
- Require hand washing/sanitizing by workers at appropriate places within the business.
Cleaning and Disinfecting Guidance
- Increasing frequency of cleaning and disinfection of all frequently touched surfaces in the workplace should become regular practice. (e.g. workstations, keyboards, telephones, handrails, doorknobs, etc.)
- If surfaces are dirty, they should be cleaned using a detergent or soap and water prior to disinfection.
- For disinfection, most common household disinfectants should be effective, such as a 10% bleach solution, alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol and most common EPA registered products that states it kills viruses. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the bottle.
- Consider closing for certain periods during the day for complete cleaning and sanitizing as needed.
- Clean and disinfect all of the following at the beginning of shifts, between customers and at the end of shifts:
- High-touch surfaces
- Work areas
- Equipment and facilities used
- Discourage shared workstations and tools, if possible. If employees must share workstations and tools, then employees should clean and disinfect before and after each use.
- Provide disposable wipes so commonly used surfaces can be wiped down by employees before and after each use.
Physical Distancing Guidance
Employees and Patrons
- Businesses may continue to recommend employees and customers wear a mask regardless of their vaccination status.
- Businesses may continue to implement physical distance practices. Recognizing that this may be challenging, below are examples:
- Post signs, floor markings, etc. with clear instructions of steps employees and patrons should take to maintain physical distancing.
- Post signs informing patrons of their responsibility to stay home when presenting symptoms.
- Mark off six feet spacing for patrons standing in line or checking out.
- Space kiosk/register six feet apart or use every other station.
- In retail spaces where employee/customer distancing cannot be maintained, a physical barrier should be used (plexiglass panel).
- In seated venues, assure proper spacing between attendees by:
- Pre-scheduling of seats to allow for spacing.
- At least two empty seats (or six feet separation) between parties in any row.
- In the case of bowling alleys, use every other lane to allow for physical distancing.
- Alternate rows between patrons by blocking off or removing the row.
Employers and Employees
- Stagger shifts and schedules for employees.
- Increase physical space between employees at the worksite (e.g. moving desks six feet apart, having employees working at every other workstation, etc.)
- Increase physical space between employees in conference rooms:
- Encourage virtual and phone meetings when possible.
- Mark off six feet between seats around conference tables or leave two empty seats between employees.
