Ron Cook, Environmental Services Team Leader

Ron has worked for the City since 2004.

What are three words to describe the City of Springfield?

Opportunity, friendly and family.

What's something you've learned since working for the City?

The vast size of a city’s sanitary collection system, and all the aspects involved to maintain it and keep our customers' sewers working properly.

Why do you do what you do?

I feel our department is out to strive for making our environment better for all, and I want to be a part of it.

What’s the hardest part of your job?

Dealing with homeowners can sometimes be challenging. But, for the most part, citizens come around when the details are fully explained.

What’s the best part of your job?

Seeing co-workers go home at the end of the day knowing we have done our job safely. We work in some dangerous conditions.

What do you admire about this organization?

That the possibilities for employees are always there.

If you could switch your job with anyone else within the City, whose job would you want?

I really don’t want to switch with anyone. I enjoy my job.
