Jill has worked for the City since 2014.
What are 3 words to describe the City of
Springfield?
Vibrant, growing, parks!
What's something you've learned since
working for the City?
There are a lot of people
fully committed to providing great service to our
citizens.
Why do you do what you do?
I learned so many
lessons and was afforded great opportunities in
life through sports – and those continue for me
still. Parks and recreation as a profession is deeply
rooted in and built upon the foundation of sport,
and I feel like it gives me the opportunity to pay it
forward and foster great experiences for others.
What’s the hardest part of your job?
There are
a lot of moments that you sacrifice time with your
family to provide opportunities to the community.
What’s the best part of your job?
What we do
everyday matters; we get to be difference makers in
our community.
What do you admire about this
organization?
We are always pushing to grow and
improve on the quality and variety of services that
we offer.
What's something that Springfield as a city
should strive for?
To truly define our identity as
a City in a manner that helps attract new visitors
and citizens.
What are you passionate about?
Making a
difference in the world and leaving things better
than you found them.
