The City of Springfield is committed to diversity and part of this commitment includes attracting diverse individuals to careers in municipal government for the betterment of the organization and community at-large. The City's Diversity Internship Program is designed to build interest and awareness of career opportunities within local government for veteran, disabled, or minority students, specifically among underrepresented groups. These internships provide an opportunity for the City to meet and build relationships with promising students who desire a career in municipal government or a career area offered by the City. In addition, the program enables college and graduate students to enhance their academic course work, create a network of contacts, and gain valuable on-the-job experience and exposure needed in pursuing their careers.
The City of Springfield is committed to diversity and inclusion. We stand for mutual respect and equity within our work environment where team members have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Embracing our diverse perspectives and ideas allows us to be innovative and effective in how we build the Springfield community. Together, we are better.
