Please Pay Attention

The primary contributing factor to vehicle accidents in Springfield continues to be inattention on the part of one, if not both, drivers. Many accidents could be prevented if drivers would concentrate fully on the road ahead and the other vehicles around them. Cell phone use while driving is often said to cause accidents, and it does, but here in Springfield the more commonly given reasons for drivers being distracted are things like reaching for the radio, looking at things off the road, attending to children in the vehicle, and eating or drinking.

If drivers would just pay attention to what is happening around them, and back off a little from the car in front of them, we would all be better off. Please wear your seatbelt to protect yourself from injury in case you are involved in an accident. Remember you can get hurt just as badly in an accident that is not your fault.
