The City of Springfield operates and maintains a variety of recycling facilities located throughout the city, with solutions for regular household recyclables, yardwaste and household chemicals

Convenient & Hassle-free Locations

Open year-round and located throughout the City of Springfield, the City's recycling centers offer convenient drop-off facilities for all citizens to properly dispose of home recyclables, yardwaste, household chemicals, and even mattresses.

Hours of Operation: 

Drop-off recycling facilities are generally open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., TUESDAY - SATURDAY. 

Closed the following holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

What we accept: 

Aluminum, Cardboard, Glass, Paper, Plastic, Tin, and Yardwaste (leaves, brush, sticks, organic holiday decor).  Household chemicals and other items are accepted at the Household Chemical Collection Center.  The Yardwaste Recycling Center is ideal for greater amounts of yardwaste and larger sized limbs.

Recycling is free but support is appreciated

Recycling is free, but suggested honor system fees and donations are encouraged at all facilities. 

Only cash and check are accepted at Franklin Avenue, Lone Pine, and the HCCC. Cash, check, and credit/debit cards accepted at the Landfill and the YRC.
