Springfield Police conduct “Move Over or Get Pulled Over,” issue 42 citations
Springfield, Mo. – On March 18, 2023, the Springfield Police Department’s Traffic Unit conducted a five-hour “Move Over or Get Pulled Over” enforcement on highways within Springfield city limits to educate drivers about Missouri’s Move Over Law.
During the enforcement period, 75 vehicles were stopped and 42 citations for failing to move over were issued. Additionally, one arrest was made for an outstanding warrant.
“The goal is to educate the public of their responsibility as drivers to move over and slow down when approaching emergency vehicles with their emergency lights activated on the shoulders of roadways,” Lieutanant Jeremy Anderson said.
