Springfield, Mo. – The Springfield Police Department has maintained international law enforcement accreditation through the Commission for Accreditation of Law Enforcement Agencies, Inc. (CALEA) since 1997. As part of this process, an opportunity for public feedback is now available via the CALEA Public Comment Portal.
The public is invited to provide comments on SPD’s compliance with CALEA standards, engagement with the community, delivery of public safety services and overall candidacy for accreditation status.
Comments can be in the form of commendations or concerns. The overall intent of the accreditation process is to provide the Springfield Police Department with information to support continuous improvement as well as foster the pursuit of professional excellence.
The online portal is available year-round for public comment. It should be noted that comments will not receive a response other than acknowledgement of the submission. Those wishing to provide feedback directly to the Springfield Police Department can find forms at springfieldmo.gov/SPD.
