The Springfield Fire Department responded to 3,271 calls for service (including 51 building fires), installed 327 smoke alarms, visited 539 apartment buildings, hung 10,733 fire prevention door hangers to educate and prevent apartment fires, visited 1,214 homes as part of Project RED Zone, tested 228 smoke alarms, installed 108 new smoke alarms, replaced 11 smoke alarm batteries and attended several community events during the second quarter of 2023.
