The Springfield Police Department will be conducting Neighborhood Watch training sessions in October. The training focuses on crime prevention, observation and reporting skills, Operation Identification and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). With 17 official groups now formed, the Neighborhood Watch program continues to grow within the City of Springfield.
Each session will run from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Springfield Regional Police and Fire Training Center, 2620 W. Battlefield, and there are three opportunities to attend:
Monday, Oct. 5 Tuesday, Oct. 6 Tuesday, Oct. 13 The training sessions are provided to the citizens of Springfield free of charge, and the SPD encourages all citizens to attend. Those interested should register by contacting the SPD Crime Prevention Unit at 417-874-2113 or by submitting an online registration form. Seating is limited.
