FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
A lateral graduation ceremony will take place for three police officers at 4 p.m. tomorrow at the Springfield Regional Police and Fire Training Center, 2620 W. Battlefield.
Graduates include:
Nathan Fetters, formerly of the Camden County (Mo.) Sheriff’s DepartmentStephen Layton, formerly of the Rogers (Ark.) Police Department David Stires, formerly of the Marin County (Calif.) Sheriff’s Department These three officers have received four weeks (160 hours) of training to acclimate them to Springfield and the Springfield Police Department. Upon graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for six weeks of on-the-job training. Once they complete the FTO program, these officers will be assigned to the SPD’s Uniform Operations Bureau.
The community is invited to help welcome these three officers to the Springfield Police Department and congratulate them on their lateral academy graduation.
