FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Springfield Police Department was dispatched to an injury crash at Sunshine Street and Zimmer Road, at 3:10 p.m. on May 28.
A 2005 Victory motorcycle, driven by Eric Teague, 43, of Springfield, was turning from westbound Sunshine to southbound Zimmer when it was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Nicholas G. Johnston, 22, of Nixa, traveling eastbound on Sunshine. Teague was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. Next of kin has been notified. There were no other injuries reported related to this crash. There is no evidence of impairment at this time, and the investigation is ongoing.
This marks the eleventh fatality crash in Springfield for 2016.
