The Springfield Police Department will be conducting a Neighborhood Watch training session from 8:30 a.m.-noon on June 25 in the Frisco Room at the Library Station, 2535 N. Kansas Expressway in Springfield. The training focuses on crime prevention, observation and reporting skills, Operation Identification and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). With 26 official groups now formed, the Neighborhood Watch program continues to grow within the City of Springfield.
The free training sessions are available only to citizens living inside of Springfield city limits, and the SPD encourages all eligible citizens to attend. Those interested should register by submitting an online registration form, or by contacting the SPD's Crime Prevention Unit at crimepreven[email protected] or 417-874-2113. Seating is limited.
