Springfield Fire Chief David Hall recognized for outstanding leadership

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

The Springfield Fire Department is proud to announce Chief David Hall was named the 2016 recipient of the O. Franklin Kenworthy Award for Outstanding Leadership June 14 at the annual alumni meeting of Leadership Springfield. Hall was recognized for his service on the Leadership Springfield board, including serving as president in 2009-10, as well his participation in numerous community groups. Hall has been with Springfield Fire Department for 30 years and became Fire Chief in 2009.

“As the head of a key public agency, he is a leader by position. But he is also a leader by example,” said Leadership Springfield President-Elect Mike Brothers. “David is a committed community servant and advocate. He’s known for being trustworthy, loyal and always available when called upon.”

The award was established in 1989 in memory of Franklin Kenworthy, a posthumous graduate of Signature Class 3. Recipients must demonstrate a commitment to Leadership Springfield, community service, good citizenship, outstanding leadership and high moral and ethical standards.
