FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Springfield police officers were dispatched to 906 S. Kickapoo at approximately 1:14 p.m. on July 8 after family members of the residents called 911 and requested a well-being check.
Upon arriving at the location, officers located a deceased female and male inside the home. The victims were identified as Judith Crigger and Dwaine Crigger, both 70 of Springfield. Next of kin notifications were made for the victims. At this time, investigators do not believe that the subjects' deaths were the result of foul play or criminal intent. With the cooperation of the Springfield Fire Department and City Utilities, it was discovered that the interior of the home contained a dangerously high level of carbon monoxide.
Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at (417) 864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at (417) 869-8477.
