FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Graduation ceremonies for the officers of the 67th Springfield Police Academy will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 5, at Ridgecrest Baptist Church, 2210 W. Republic Road.
These 11 graduates have undergone 1,059 hours (26 weeks) of intense law enforcement training. Upon graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 520 hours (13 weeks) of on-the-job training. Once they complete the FTO program, these new officers will be assigned to the Uniform Operations Bureau.
The class consists of two females and nine males. Their combined education and experience includes one associate degree, four bachelor’s degrees, one prior Class A POST certification and five prior or current members of military.
The media and public are invited to attend the graduation ceremony.
