Update (7:15 p.m.): Hughes was located in good condition this evening by authorities in Haskell County, OK. He was driving at the time he was located and arrangements are being made to return him to Springfield.
Original release (4:23 p.m.): The Springfield Police Department is investigating a report of a missing and endangered person and is asking for the public’s assistance. Andrew Hughes, 82, was last seen by his wife at 9 a.m. today leaving Golden Corral, 2020 E. Primrose. At that time, he was supposed to drive to their northwest Springfield home in the 2200 block of N. Cottage.
Hughes may be driving a two-toned tan and brown 2001 Pontiac Montana minivan with no license plates.
Hughes suffers from Alzheimer’s. He is 5 feet 7 inches, weighs 163 pounds, and has scraggly, short white hair and hazel eyes. He could be wearing glasses.
Anyone with information regarding Hughes’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 417-864-1810.
