The Springfield Police Department will be conducting Neighborhood Watch training sessions next month, and the training focuses on crime prevention, observation and reporting skills, Operation Identification and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). With 25 official groups formed, the Neighborhood Watch program continues to grow within the City of Springfield.
Wednesday, October 5, 2016Doling Family Center, 301 E. Talmage (4 hours) 5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Thursday, October 6, 2016Springfield Regional Police and Fire Training Center, 2620 W. Battlefield (4 hours)5:30 – 9:30 p.m.
Monday & Tuesday, October 10 – 11, 2016Springfield Regional Police and Fire Training Center, 2620 W. Battlefield (Training split into two days instead of one; 2 hours each)
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. each day
The free training sessions are available only to citizens living inside of Springfield city limits, and the SPD encourages all eligible citizens to attend. Those interested should register by submitting an online registration form, or by contacting the SPD's Crime Prevention Unit at crimepreven[email protected] or 417-874-2113. Seating is limited.
