FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Trick-or-Treat on C-Street, A Halloween Sidewalk Parade Monday, 4-7 p.m. Oct. 31, Jefferson to Lyon Avenues
Commercial Street’s CID & Commercial Club invite the community to yet another fun, safe, and FREE family- and pet-friendly C-Street event. Come rain or shine 4-7 p.m., trick-or-treaters start at the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge, kicking off the Halloween Sidewalk Parade and Trick or Treat bonanza!
Kiddos 14 and under (with an adult) are encouraged to wear costumes and ply their best “trick or treat” performances at participating storefronts outside on the sidewalks of Historic Commercial Street along a loop through the district down to Lyon and ending back at the Jefferson Avenue Footbridge.
As a token of appreciation to our C-Street neighbors and the greater Springfield community for their ongoing support of the Historic C-Street district, the C-Street merchants and various organizations invite families and children to enjoy this safe, neighborhood trick-or-treat experience. Thousands of treats (candy and non-candy) have been donated, as well as free popcorn and free hot chocolate!
“The Trick-or-Treat event is the second annual for the C-Street district, and we hope to see many families and children here to enjoy the fun,” said Gregg Johnson, president of the C-Street Community Improvement District (CID). “As we enter the holiday season, we look forward to increased involvement with our surrounding neighborhoods and the entire Springfield community.”
Free public parking lots are located at the following locations:
• Jefferson Avenue Footbridge/C-Street City Market
• Northwest corner, Jefferson & Blaine Street
• Southeast corner, Campbell & Blaine Street
