FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Public Works will host an informational open house for the Republic Road Widening Phase 3 project – 5-6:30 p.m. Monday, March 27 at Wesley United Methodist Church (922 W. Republic Road). Residents are invited to learn about the project and discuss construction impacts with project engineers. There will be no formal presentation.

The Republic Road Widening Phase 3 project will widen Republic Road to five lanes from just west of Parkcrest Avenue to Fairview Avenue. The project will include the addition of bike lanes, sidewalks, stormwater infrastructure, gas and water utility renewals, and a new traffic signal at Broadway Avenue and Republic Road.

Construction for phase 3 is expected to begin by late April and be completed by the end of 2017. The estimated cost for construction is $2.2 million. The project will be funded through the voter-approved 1/4-cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax.
