FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Local and national public safety employers will be on hand to answer questions about the security, safety, emergency management and law enforcement fields at the Missouri Job Center’s Law Enforcement and Dynamic Emergency Responders (L.E.A.D.E.R.) event noon-4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 26. The event will be open to only U.S. Armed Forces veterans noon-2 p.m. After 2 p.m., the event will be open to the public.
“This will be the first time the Springfield Job Center has hosted an event entirely focused on public safety and first responder career paths,” said Glen Farrow, event organizer and Job Center local veteran employment representative. “Anyone looking for employment who has experience in these job fields, or has an interest in this area of work, should plan to attend. As the Local Veterans Employment Representative, I encourage transitioning service members and veterans to attend. This event offers a unique opportunity to connect with industry employers, and to learn more about their hiring practices and open positions.”
The FBI and regional EMS, fire and police departments will be among those represented. Attendees will have opportunities to ask questions about hiring practices, departments, and the requirements for jobs. Job seekers should bring an updated resume, dress professionally and be prepared for on-site interviews.
