Manufacturing Day Hiring Event at Job Center North

SPRINGFIELD, MO –Manufacturing Day occurs on the first Friday in October, this year it is Oct. 6th. To honor that day, the Missouri Job Center is holding a Manufacturer’s Hiring Event 4-8 p.m. Oct. 3 in the Fountain Room of Cox Hospital North, 1423 N. Jefferson Ave. This event will allow job seekers to connect with a variety of local companies. Job seekers can apply and speak to hiring managers and recruiting representatives about the different manufacturing positions available.

“The intent is for us to collaborate our efforts with Springfield Public Schools, the Chamber, and OTC to promote manufacturing during the week of Manufacturing Day,” said Dennis Wiggins, event coordinator and business service specialist at the Missouri Job Center. “This is the first year we are doing this in conjunction with Manufacturing Day, but we’re hoping to build on that in the years to come so we can promote the manufacturing industry in this area.”

The Missouri Job Center’s Mobile Job Bus will also be on-site. Attendees should dress appropriately and are encouraged to visit Missouri Job Center locations before the event for resume help and other services.
