FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Missouri State University senior social work students will present the findings of their semester-long study of Springfield’s Doling neighborhood at 7:30 p.m. at the Doling Family Center, 301 E. Talmage.
Over a four-week time frame, the 26 students, led by instructor Dr. Mary Ann Jennings, collected data from Doling residents about topics ranging from housing and nuisance properties to safety, education, infrastructure and recreation.
“The Doling Neighborhood Association hopes that this study, with the help of Missouri State University and the Center for Community Engagement, can serve as a model to help other neighborhoods learn more about the needs and wants of their residents,” according to a statement from the Doling Neighborhood Association. “The study will be key in helping the Doling Neighborhood Association focus our efforts to improve our corner of Springfield.”
