FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The City-County Communications & Marketing Association (3CMA) announced the 2016 winners of its national Savvy Awards Competition during a ceremony at the Westin Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, Sept. 8. The City of Springfield’s Department of Public Information received a 2016 Savvy Award for its interactive walk-through model of downtown Springfield,with infographics, complementary print pieces and a video animation illustrating the economic revitalization of the area. The display was designed and built by PIO staff and debuted at the Salute to Legislators event in Jefferson City earlier this year. Part of the display was repurposed for the 2016 State of the City Address in Springfield this summer. The Department of Public Information, led by Director Cora Scott, includes: Chris Akins, Brittney Bywater, David Cron, Jeff Gilmore, Melissa Haase, Kristen Milam, Mark Montgomery, Sharon Spain and Jared Willard. The Savvy Awards, held in conjunction with 3CMA’s annual conference, recognize outstanding local government achievements in communications, public-sector marketing and citizen-government relationships.
