FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Mayor Bob Stephens will issue a proclamation at a fundraiser tonight recognizing the bravery of Springfieldians Theron Teeter, also known as Too Much, and Mike Wallace, for pulling 4-year-old Ben Garrison from his burning home on West Lee Street Jan. 14. “This is a great example of Springfieldians helping Springfieldians,” Stephens said. The pair, who live next door, ran into the burning house and pulled the little boy out, but he had suffered burns to most of his body and later died at a Springfield hospital. Tonight’s fundraiser is being held for the boy’s family at the Outland Ballroom. Teeter and Wallace, who are rappers, will perform at the benefit show along with other musical acts. The show starts at 9 p.m. and costs $10. While the show is open to all ages, it will contain adult content and language. # # # For more information, contact: Cora Scott, Director of Public Information & Civic Engagement, 417-864-1009 (office) | 417-380-3352 (cell), [email protected]
