Springfield Police Investigate Homicide
Springfield police were dispatched to 408 S. Patterson at 8:23 A.M., on September 10, 2018, after a 911 caller requested officers to check the well being of a male subject in a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found a deceased male victim with apparent gunshot wound inside the vehicle. The victim was identified as Joshua S. Brooks, a 40-year-old male from Republic. Next of kin notifications have been made for the victim.
A suspect has not been identified at this time. Detectives continue to investigate and are asking anyone who has information about this incident to contact the Springfield Police Department at 417-864-1810 or make an anonymous call to Crime Stoppers at 417-869-8477.
The investigation is ongoing and no further details are available for release at this time.
