Missouri Job Center to host Wednesday Works Hiring Event

The Missouri Job Center is hosting its inaugural Wednesday Works Hiring Event on February 27, from 9 to 11 am at the Job Center’s south location, 2900 E. Sunshine. Job seekers are invited to stop by and visit with representatives from five different companies including Amada Senior Care, Bass Pro Shops, CoxHealth, NorthStar Battery and QPS Employment.

“We are trying a new approach in the way we do hiring events,” said Dennis Wiggins, Business Services Supervisor with the Missouri Job Center. In addition to doing individual hiring events with local companies, we are assembling five employers who represent different industries in hopes of attracting more job seekers, Wiggins added.

Each of the five companies will be accepting resumes and many of them will also offer paper applications for job seekers to fill out on sight in lieu of requiring an online application.

If this pilot project is a success, we plan to roll this out in March and have it become a weekly occurrence, said Wiggins.
