The City of Springfield has released an interactive Year in Review report that highlights community activities and accomplishments during 2016.

In his opening message, City Manager Greg Burris expresses gratitude that Springfield is a city of action.

“While citizens from many other communities get stalled in analysis paralysis, Springfieldians pride themselves on being collaborators and on having a bias toward action. It is a trait that has resulted in great innovation and a sense of pride,” Burris wrote.

In 2016:

• The Springfield-Greene County Park Board achieved full accreditation.
• The Springfield-Greene County Health Department expanded its community health advocate program.
• The Springfield Art Museum acquired its largest watercolor to date.
• The Springfield-Branson National Airport had another record year.
• Public Works committed to investing more than $8 million in infrastructure in Zone 1.
• Public safety agencies responded in force to a spring flash flooding event.
