Ribbon cutting for College Street improvements 11 a.m. Thursday

Please join the City of Springfield at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 10 near the intersection of College Street and Main Avenue as we cut the ribbon for the improvements to College Street between Grant and Market avenues. The project included new federal Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant sidewalks, stormwater and roadway improvements, tree wells, lighting enhancements and utility upgrades.

This project is one of several in Springfield funded by 2017 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant funds, which were required to be complete by the end of this month.

In coming weeks, the City and the Springfield-Greene County Park Board will celebrate the completion of 2017 CDBG-funded projects at Tom Watkins, Nichols, Meador and Cooper parks.
