FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Primrose Street will close west of Jefferson Avenue during the overnight and early morning hours Tuesday through Friday of next week for gas and water relocation work for the Primrose Street Widening Project – South Avenue to Kimbrough Avenue. The hours of the closures will be 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, Wednesday, May 22 and Thursday, May 23, reopening at 6 a.m., Friday, May 24. These closures are weather dependent.
The project widens Primrose Street to five lanes between South Avenue and Kimbrough Avenue. The project includes the addition of bike lanes, sidewalks, storm sewer, curb and gutter, gas and water renewals, traffic signal upgrades at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Primrose Street, and a sewer extension.
The project is funded by the 1/4-cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax.
