HIRING AND RESOURCE FAIR FOR LOCAL VETERANS
The Missouri Job Center and American Legion Post 639 are joining forces to host a Hiring and Resource Fair to provide employer engagement opportunities and access to local resources for veterans and their families. The Post-Independence Day Veterans Hiring and Resource Fair is Thursday, July 11, from 2 to 6 pm at the American Legion Post 639, 2660 S. Scenic in Springfield. The free event is open to all veterans, transitioning service members, reserves, National Guard, and military spouses, as well as the general public.
“At this Post-Independence Day Veteran Hiring and Resource Fair, we will have 26 employers from a variety of industries specifically seeking the inherent value which veterans bring to the table. Leadership, teamwork, and a disciplined work ethic are all skills veterans possess as a result of their service.” said Sabrina Bonnette, Local Veterans Employment Representative.
“There will be several service providers on hand to help veterans, retirees, and veteran spouses with housing, education, career planning, and supplemental assistance for the elderly. It is an avenue to learn how to access earned benefits, gain helpful insights on navigating the civilian employment world, and find an outlet of support from other military members,” said Bonnette who is a U.S. Navy Chief, Retired.
