Springfield Police Recruits Set to Graduate Saturday
The media and public are invited to attend graduation ceremonies for the officers of the 71st Springfield Police Academy. The ceremony will be held Saturday, Aug. 10, 2019, at Parkcrest Baptist Church, 816 W. Republic Rd. at 11:00 a.m.
These 26 graduates have undergone 1,099 hours (27 weeks) of intense law enforcement training. Upon graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 520 hours (13 weeks) of on-the-job training. Once they complete the FTO program, these new officers will be assigned to the Uniform Operations Bureau.

- 6 Bachelor’s Degrees
- 7 Associates Degree
- 10 Prior or Current Military
