FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Jefferson Avenue, immediately north of Primrose Street, will close for approximately 30 days beginning 6 a.m., Monday, Aug. 12 for construction work related to the Primrose Street Widening Project. The closure will extend 100 feet north of Primrose Street. All driveway access to Kickapoo High School will remain open and accessible from the north via Walnut Lawn Street or Powell Street.
The Primrose Widening Project will widen Primrose Street to five lanes between South Avenue and Kimbrough Avenue and includes the addition of bike lanes, sidewalks, storm sewer, curb and gutter, gas and water renewals, traffic signal upgrades at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Primrose Street, and a sewer extension.
The project is funded by the voter-approved 1/4-cent Capital Improvement Sales Tax.
