FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Commercial Club of Springfield invites the community to “Shop Small & Shop Local”during C-Street’s Shop Small Weekend beginning on Black Friday, November 29 and running through Sunday, December 1.
At 1 p.m. at Ensley & Swann Boutique, 200 East Commercial, Small Business Weekend kicks off in C-Street’s newest small business with a Mayoral Proclamation by Zone 1 Councilwoman, Phyllis Ferguson. Shopping at small businesses is an investment in neighbor-owned businesses. When you shop on C-Street you put dollars directly back into our community. Every store on Historic C-Street is a locally-owned business, and an opportunity for you to support local businesses by shopping small.
Danielle Jeffries, manager of Ensley & Swann, invites the community to “Stop in to check out our holiday offerings and the unique atmosphere of this special district. Shop small, shop local for your holiday shopping and enjoy a snack and a sip of cheer!”
At 2 p.m., at Big Momma’s Coffee & Espresso Bar, 217 East Commercial, C-Street’s Shop Small Weekend continues with music as we “Celebrate the Holidays with the Springfield Street Choir.” Singers who are currently or formerly homeless, or are experiencing extreme poverty will perform to celebrate all things C-Street. A project of the Springfield Chamber Chorus in collaboration with Gathering Friends and The Connecting Grounds, the choir’s mission is to create and foster community, dignity, and beauty.
Historic C Street has long been a favorite Ozarks destination. Shops & boutiques, restaurants and artisan stores make this historic 6-block district a favorite holiday destination. Treat yourself to an evening drive to enjoy many of the old fashioned holiday decorations in lighted windows.
“Many C-Street shops are offering special holiday treats, pricing and extended hours during Shop Small Weekend.” added Irene Schaefer. She also noted that “Parking is free and plentiful and available throughout the Commercial Street Historic District.” Shop Small, Shop Local & Support Small Business Weekend on Historic C-Street
