Media Alert: Mayor's Tree Lighting Ceremony Media Opportunities

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Media interested in covering the Mayor’s Tree Lighting Ceremony, may contact Cora Scott at 417-380-3352 or Melissa Haase at 417-536-7648, beginning Saturday at 3 p.m. Staging and lighting set up will be underway at that time. Here are some specific opportunities:

  • Current: downtown businesses are participating in a window display contest
  • Tree Lighting Show staging begins around 3 p.m.
  • Sound checks begin at 5 p.m. at Park Central Square
  • The Mayor will arrive onsite at 5:30 p.m.
  • Live shots available at between 6 and 6:30 p.m.
  • Free hot chocolate and carriage rides 6-9 p.m.
  • Free ice skating at Jordan Valley Ice Park - 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. 
  • Show starts at 6:30 p.m.
  • Tree Lighting (7:30 p.m. - approximate)
  • Selfies with Santa - 7:40 - 9 p.m. (ish) in the History Museum
  • Readings of "Twas the Night Before Christmas" 7:45, 8 and 8:15 p.m. (free book while supplies last)
