Springfield Police Recruits of 72nd Academy Set to Graduate Friday
Graduation ceremonies for the officers of the 72nd Springfield Police Academy will be held Friday, July 10, 2020, at Park Crest Baptist Church (816 W. Republic Rd.) at 7:00 p.m.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the graduation ceremony will not be open to the public but will be live-streamed via SPD’s Facebook and website beginning at 7:00 p.m.
These 13 graduates have undergone 1,100 hours (27 weeks) of intense law enforcement training. Upon graduation, they will be assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 520 hours (13 weeks) of on-the-job training. Once they complete the FTO program, these new officers will be assigned to the Uniform Operations Bureau.
