To help employers stop the spread of COVID-19 and minimize disruptions to their businesses as a result of the pandemic, the Springfield-Greene County Health Department has released the COVID-19 Toolkit for Businesses & Workplaces.
This toolkit will help strengthen organizational COVID-19 prevention and response policies. It includes prevention and response procedures, answers to frequently asked questions, sample policies, logs and printable signs. These resources will equip employers with the tools and information they need to protect their employees, customers and businesses.
The complete toolkit can be found at http://health.springfieldmo.gov/business.
With more than 4,000 cases of COVID-19 in Greene County residents since March, many employers have already had staff test positive for COVID-19 or be exposed to other positive individuals. Workplaces are one of our leading sources of disease spread. The resulting isolation and quarantine requirements of having a positive case among staff could cause significant disruptions in the workplace. However, there are some steps employers can take to minimize disruptions.
Employers can help stop the spread of COVID-19 within both their workplaces and the community by understanding Health Department guidelines for prevention and in the case of an exposure. This is especially helpful as often friends, family and employers are aware of a potential exposure before the Health Department receives notification of a positive test result.
