FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The Springfield Fire Department’s Bomb Squad responded to the area of 500 S. Grant at 7:38 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25 in reference to an unattended package in a public area. The item was examined by the Bomb Squad, and no explosive component or threat was associated to the device and no criminal aspect was determined.
This event serves as a good reminder to the public to report any suspicious activity or items to authorities: “See something, say something.”
