Career Closet to Reopen to the Public
The Career Closet, located inside the Missouri Job Center at 2900 E. Sunshine, is reopening to the pubic for the first time since the beginning of the pandemic. The Career Closet provides interview appropriate clothing for job seekers free of charge.
“We are excited to be able to reopen the Career Closet as a service to job seekers who need a new look for a job interview,” said Sally Payne, Interim Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield. “We are also able to provide work clothes to those who are starting a new job, especially those entering the workforce for the first time or switching careers,” Payne added.
Up to two complete outfits can be provided free of charge to those who have job interviews scheduled or to those who are starting a new job and need clothes to boost their work wardrobe. The Missouri Job Center is accepting seasonal appropriate donations of gently used work clothes including shoes, scarves and handbags. The Job Center is open Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. A receipt can be provided to individuals who make donations for tax reporting purposes.
