Final Podcast of 2021 Focuses on Finding Work Life Balance
The City’s Department of Workforce Development, housed at the Missouri Job Center, has released its last podcast episode of 2021 featuring a former Workforce Development Director for the City of Springfield who now serves as the Olympic Workforce Development Council Director in Kitsap County Washington.
Workforce Vibe host Sally Payne sat down with a Bill Dowling and talked about his recent decision to leave a director role with the State of Colorado and relocate to Washington state to be closer to family. Dowling also talked of his excitement in getting back to addressing workforce needs at the local level and how he mentors younger staff to become leaders.
“Bill personifies so much of what we see in the workforce now,” said Sally Payne, Director of Workforce Development for the City of Springfield. “He has made a very thoughtful decision to reprioritize his life and move closer to family,” she said. “We see this quite often since the pandemic, people taking stock of their lives and fitting work around relationships instead of the other way around,” Payne added.
Workforce Vibe can be accessed on most major podcast platforms including Apple iTunes and Spotify. You may also listen to all Workforce Vibe episodes on https://cityview.springfieldmo.gov under the podcasts section.
