Springfield Fire Department releases 2021 Community Engagement Report

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Springfield Fire Department personnel were pleased to return to in-person community engagement in 2021, visiting 56 public and private elementary schools providing education on fire safety to 11,941 students during October’s Fire Prevention Month. These educational messages could not have been possible without the efforts of Springfield Public Schools as well as several private educational institutions that made it possible to return to in-person public education.

Springfield firefighters teamed up with members of the Springfield-Greene County Health Department and the Jordan Valley Community Health Center in the fight against COVID-19. During 2021, members from the fire department participated in 52 vaccine clinics and administered 1,479 vaccines.
