Criminal Charges Filed in S. Fremont Homicide, Related Assault
Springfield, Mo. – On August 18, 2021, at approximately 10:41 p.m., Springfield Police Officers responded to 3200 S. National Ave, Cox Health Plans, in reference to 911 calls reporting shots fired and a person injured on scene. When officers arrived, they located the victim, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, on the parking lot in front of the address. The victim was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries but survived and was later released from the hospital.
On December 4, 2021, at approximately 11:07 p.m., Springfield Police Officers responded to 2215 S. Fremont Ave in reference to 911 calls of shots being fired in the area. Officers arrived on scene and located the victim in front of the address, who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim, identified as Trevor J. Hale, 41, of Springfield, Missouri, was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Hale’s family has been notified.
The Springfield Police Department Homicide Unit identified Darius Adams, 26, from Springfield, Missouri, as a suspect in both cases. On April 4, 2022, Adams was arrested and booked into the Greene County Jail.
The case was presented to the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office. Darius Adams was charged with 1st Degree Murder, 1st Degree Assault and two counts of Armed Criminal Action. He is being held without bond.
The Greene County Prosecutor’s Office cautions that the charges contained in the felony complaint are merely allegations and that the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty in court.
