On full display during 2021 were the resiliency and professionalism of your Springfield firefighters and their determination to meet the fire and emergency services needs of our community while also stepping forward to play an important and trusted role in the public health needs of our neighbors. The strength of our community is our collaboration, and in 2021 the Fire Department continued to work with partner agencies in service to our community.
Your firefighters responded to 14,469 emergency incidents in 2021, with persistence in the number of vacant structure fires and opioid-related medical emergencies.
