Livestream the 75th Springfield Police Academy graduation
Springfield, Mo. – The Springfield Police Department will graduate 24 police recruits from the 75th Police Academy tomorrow, July 29, at 7 p.m., at East Sunshine Church of Christ, 3721 E. Sunshine St.
The academy includes 1,110 hours over 27 weeks of intense law enforcement training, which this class of recruits began in January. After graduation, recruits are assigned to an experienced field-training officer (FTO) for approximately 520 additional hours over 13 weeks of on-the-job training. Once they complete the FTO program, the new officers are assigned to the Uniform Operations Bureau.
The graduates of the 75th academy include 24 men with a variety of backgrounds including military, EMS and fire services.
The ceremony will be livestreamed on CityView and on the Springfield Police Department’s Facebook beginning at 7 p.m.
